AEGIS ANNOUNCES THE COMPLETION OF A NEW PEER REVIEW POLICY

8/10/2007 - Canoga Park, California - Becky Heinicke, Director of Q.A. & Q.C., is proud to announce the completion of the new Peer Review Policy. The policy provides a venue for the critical review of patient records and treatment, as well as for the effective training of Aegis physicians, nurses, clinical directors, counselors, specialists, and social workers.

Arron Hightower, Director of Clinical Services, noted, “The new policy addresses such essential factors as clinical risk management, regulatory and administrative compliance, clinical standards and outcome measuring. This review is only possible due to the recent implementation of Aegis’ PHASE system, and its comprehensive patient database, which was internally developed by Aegis’ Information Technology Department.”

Jeff Bisaga, Regional Clinical Director, further added, “The new policy will compliment the existing Case Conference Policy. However, unlike case conferencing, which is patient-centered and dedicated to acute conditions, peer reviews are focused primarily on clinical standards and the training of our clinicians. Furthermore, once implemented, peer reviews will replace the internal audits which are currently conducted by the Departments of Q.A. & Q.C. and Clinical Services.”
