AEGIS SIGNS INTERNSHIP AGREEMENTS WITH USC, CSU STANISLAUS, AND LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY
7/17/2007 - Canoga Park, California, Arron Hightower, Director of Clinical Services, is pleased to report of the significant progress that Aegis’ has made in recent months in its negotiations for internship agreements with leading academic institutions. Such agreements have been signed with USC, CSU Stanislaus, and Loma Linda University, through the month of July. He added that, “The agreements with these three outstanding universities are the newest additions to those that Aegis has already signed with more than thirty other leading academic institutions throughout the state of California.”
Terry Jordan, Regional Clinical Director, stated, “The new agreements provide us with the opportunity to recruit the brightest and most qualified students before they are recruited by other centers of excellence. Aegis believes it to be a win-win situation for all parties, which has already had a great effect on the working and treatment environment of our clinics, and contributed significantly to clinical standards.” She further added, “We hope that the internship agreements will develop into strategic alliances beyond the internship programs. Aegis Institute and Aegis Medical Systems intend to offer training on various clinical and regulatory issues, as well as share resources that were previously only available to government agencies and providers.”
Becky Heinicke, Director of Q.A. & Q.C., stated that, “The new agreements allow social work interns and MFT trainees an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary treatment environment, and assist patients who are struggling with complex co-occurring disorders. Side-by-side to their addiction, these patients also suffer from mental, emotional and behavioral conditions.”
