AEGIS ANNOUNCES THE COMPLETION OF THE LATEST PHASE SYSTEM MODULE
6/20/2008 - Canoga Park, California, The Aegis Department of Information Technology is pleased to announce the completion of the development of the Front Office Module. He stated that, "The PHASE System is designed to replace all manual procedures and to allow Aegis to work in a paper-less environment. In addition, it will allow Aegis to streamline its operations and maintain quality control throughout the system. Furthermore, it will also serve as the infrastructure for future expansion."
Mr. Adigopula added that, "The Front Office Module is one of five (5) major modules that make up the PHASE System. These other modules include the Back Office Module, Dispensing Module, Lab Module and Clinical Module."
Ron Alvarado, Controller, who is in charge of the implementation of the new module throughout Aegis’ network of clinics, stated that, “In addition to the traditional functions, the new module can automatically calculate the rates for self-pay patients according to a complex formula that is based on the government mandated Uniform Methods of Determining Ability to Pay. This allows financially indigent patients the ability to qualify for discounted rates that are below the approved Medi-Cal and Medicare rates. Thus, various needy populations are provided with increased accessibility to treatment."”
Udi Barkai, President & C.E.O., congratulated the IT Department on this accomplishment. He added that, "The software was developed in house over the last two years, and is expected to be fully implemented within one year. With a total budget exceeding $1 million, this software development project became possible due to funding from the Department of Agriculture's Rural Utility Services grant, as well as Aegis Institute, Inc."
