AEGIS BECOMES BOARD OF BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES CEU PROVIDER
1/26/2009 - Canoga Park, California - Arron Hightower, Director of Clinical Services, is pleased to announce that the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (“BBS”) has authorized Aegis Institute, Inc. to be a provider for Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.’s).
Evan Shapiro, Ph.D., Regional Clinical Director for Aegis’ Simi Valley and La Mirada clinics stated, “The acceptance of Aegis as a CEU provider for the Board is an enormous accomplishment, and truly reflects on the hard work, dedication and clinical success that Aegis has achieved.”
Susan Landes, PsyD., MFT, Regional Clinical Director for Aegis’ Roseville and Marysville clinics stated, “I am very excited with the prospects for Aegis as a BBS CEU provider. This status affords Aegis more opportunities to collaborate with the local community both for the sake of our patients as well as in offering education to clinicians on the very complex nature of co-occurring disorders.”
Over the last two years, Aegis Institute and Aegis Medical Systems, Inc. (“AMS”) has been gradually deploying social workers and therapists throughout AMS’ network of clinics for the treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders of Aegis patients. These services also include assistance to patients with accessing and utilizing community resources. Additionally, Aegis Institute maintains internship programs with over 30 leading academic institutions throughout the state. These internship programs are geared towards Social work and MFT interns.
The BBS is responsible for consumer protection through the regulation of Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT); Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW); Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP); MFT Interns; and Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASW) in the State of California.
