AEGIS ANNOUNCES THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CLINICAL BOARD OF ADVISORS
5/10/2010 - Canoga Park, CA - Arron Hightower, Director of Clinical Services, is proud to announce the establishment of a Clinical Board of Advisors for Aegis Medical Systems, Inc. Mr. Hightower will chair the board which includes three highly qualified Regional Clinical Directors from Aegis clinics in Chico, Roseville and Bakersfield. These clinicians are Paul Bugnacki, LCSW, Susan Landes, PsyD., MFT, and Edie Warkentin, LCSW.
The board members bring to the board a variety of backgrounds and expertise, which includes: Ms. Landes’ extensive experience in psychotherapy and treatment of young adults; Mr. Bugnacki’s expertise in substance abuse and crisis intervention; and Ms. Warkentin’s expertise in clinical assessments, as well has her teaching experience at Cal State Bakersfield.
Mr. Hightower stated, “We established the board with the intention of providing oversight over the development of new clinical policies, protocols, and procedures, as well as the review of existing practices.” He further added that, “The board’s first task will be to review the internally developed protocols for the treatment of college-age patients. Over the last few years we have seen a significant increase in this patient population, and as a result, we are faced with new clinical challenges. We are especially concerned about the treatment of their social anxiety, personality disorders, ADD / ADHD, as well as the underlying conflict between these patients and their parents. The current economic conditions make things worse for most of these patients.”
