Canoga Park, California - The Aegis IT Department is pleased to report the successful installation of a complete Backup System for Aegis’ Electronic Data & LAN/WAN Network.
The backup location has been established at a highly secured underground facility in Downtown Los Angeles. The facility is supported by an alternate power supply and Tier 1 data lines, ensuring maximum protection from natural disasters, power outages and fires. Tushar Patel, head of Aegis’ IT Department added, “The new system synchronizes with our existing seven servers continuously, on a twenty-four-seven basis, thus providing Aegis with full redundancy for all its electronic records and patient data in particular.” The successful development of the Backup System paves the way for the full automation of Aegis and its clinics, by providing a “safety net” for all electronic correspondence and records.
The total implementation cost of the system was approx $70,000 and was partially financed through the Rural Utility Services (“RUS”) grant by the Federal Department of Agriculture.
Since 1998, Aegis Medical Systems, Inc. (AMS) has operated the largest network of Narcotic Treatment Programs (NTPs) in California. During this period AMS has continued to update and upgrade this network into a “state of the art” continuum of care. The AMS model has set the standard for NTP operations throughout the country. In keeping with the company’s long-term objectives, AMS has identified the need to develop and implement additional service elements. These service elements will expand the continuum of care to enable AMS to coordinate an array of services that address the needs of all levels and types of substance abuse programs.
