AEGIS MEDICAL SYSTEMS MAKES A VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HEPATITIS C

Canoga Park, California - Aegis Medical Systems, Inc., in collaboration with Bayer Diagnostics and Teragenix of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, has completed a valuable research study to help individuals at high risk for Hepatitis C. The results of the study are being used to develop a blood regent test for Hepatitis C – an important tool for early detection of Hepatitis C among opioid addicts.

George Girgis, M.D. Chief Medical Director, said “Hepatitis C is a major public health problem in California and the majority (over 90%) of Aegis patients are afflicted with this disease. Early detection of Hepatitis C is critical for effective treatment of this ‘silent killer’ .”

Bayer Diagnostics is a division of the Bayer Company, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Teragenix is a leading blood serum testing company.
