AEGIS INSTITUTE DONATION OF COMPUTERS TO PAAG MEMBERS

Canoga Park, California – In support of the Patient Advisory & Advocacy Group (“PAAG”), Aegis Medical Systems, Inc. and Aegis Institute, Inc. (a non-profit organization) have donated computers, e-mail accounts, and free internet access to the PAAG’s board members.

The recipients of the computers are exemplary patients, who serve as a model to many thousands of other patients.  The donated computers will allow these patients to improve the communication among themselves, and with other patients throughout the state.  It will also allow for better utilization of Aegis’ extensive scope of resources, including the offices of the General Counsel, Ombudsman, and Aegis department directors.

“The PAAG members that were given computers exhibit a high level of dedication and concern for their fellow patients.  This commitment is seen in their participation in PAAG board meetings and involvement with Keys To Recovery local chapters,” stated Steve Day, PAAG Chairman.

The PAAG consists of recovering and recovered patients recruited from Aegis clinics.  PAAG members meet quarterly at Aegis’ corporate headquarters and provide Aegis with direct feedback from the population served–an essential “tool” for the ongoing improvement of patient care and customer service.   The establishment of the PAAG also sets an important precedent among NTP’s throughout the nation.
