Aegis Medical Systems, Inc., (“Aegis”) is operating the largest network of Narcotic Treatment Programs (AKA “Opiate Treatment Programs” commonly referred to as OTP’s) in the United States .  Upon the 1998 acquisition, the company immediately began implementation of a business plan to upgrade the network into a “State of the Art” continuum of care, a model that has set the standard for OTP operations throughout the country.

The business plan was instrumental in repositioning Aegis into the mainstream of medical care.  We now meet and exceed the most stringent of operating and medical standards in practice and appearance.  Aegis employs the most advanced policies, protocols and procedures known to the industry, and is also involved with “cutting edge” pharmaceutical and behavioral research & development projects with some of the most prominent government agencies (i.e., NIDA), research institutions (i.e., UCLA, the RAND Corporation) and pharmaceutical companies (i.e., Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Teragenix).

Aegis provides a comprehensive treatment modality, allowing various staff members to address and sustain the diverse needs of the clients / patients. Along with addiction treatment through “replacement therapy” Aegis has implemented additional protocols and procedures for the treatment of co-occurring mental conditions (“dual diagnosis”), sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), case management, vocational rehabilitation and nutritional counseling.

Aegis has formed strategic alliances with the leading regulatory agencies in our industry. These agencies include County offices of Alcohol and Drug Programs, California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration / Center of Substance Abuse Treatment (SAMHSA /CSAT), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
